Insulated Containers
Insulated containers maintain a constant temperature to help protect temperature-sensitive materials during benchtop use, short- or long-term storage, or transport. Available in a variety of types, such as polyurethane boxes, chests, coolers, and mini-coolers, insulated containers can be used for enzymes, cells, reagents, and other solutions.
Specific applications include: protection from moderate and extreme ambient temperature exposure; short-term frozen or hot storage; and controlled rate freezing (approximately -1°C/minute) for cell preservation.

- Ice buckets and pans
Insulated containers are usually used for cold items, although they can also be used with cold or hot items.

Auspex Avian Positioner is used to position an avian species for radiography and surgery. The Positioner is made of a piece of durable plexiglass board. There are two short slots and four longer slots machined through the board. Several pieces of strategically-placed velcro hook type fasteners are permanently attached to the bottom of the board. Several straps of loop type velcro are supplied, which are utilized for restraining the bird’s and wings. Several pairs of the velcro face straps, used to restrain the bird’s legs, are also included. The versatile Auspex Avian Positioner can be applied to most types of birds, from budgerigars to macaws. It is highly effective and reliable, able to securely restrain even the most unruly bird. It is safe and relatively painless, since the bird is held using soft cloth-like straps, unlike the guillotine-type devices that hold the bird’s neck down with a piece of hard plastic. The Positioner is low-cost and durable.

The protective aluminum bases extend the full height of the dewars. Note that protected vacuum tip-off tubulations are offset to the side to minimize space between the dewar bottoms and magnetic stirrers.
